BPS Pay Scale Calculator 2026
The Basic Pay Scales 2026 replaced BPS-2022 on 1 July 2026. Pay is fixed point to point — your stage carries across, not your rupees — so a flat percentage is the wrong answer for almost every grade. Pick your grade and stage, or enter the basic pay on your June 2026 slip.

How the fixation works
Four rules that decide your figure
- Point to point. The basic pay of an employee in service on 30-06-2026 is fixed in BPS-2026 point to point, that is at the stage corresponding to the stage occupied above the minimum of BPS-2022.
- Personal pay. Personal pay drawn as part of basic pay beyond the maximum of the scale on 30-06-2026 continues to be drawn in BPS-2026 at the revised rates.
- Increment date. Annual increment continues to fall on 1 December each year, subject to the existing conditions.
- The option. Each employee had 30 days from 21-07-2026 to give an irrevocable written option to stay on BPS-2022 or move to BPS-2026. Anyone who did not exercise it is deemed to have opted for BPS-2026.
Under para 7 of the RBPS-2026 memorandum, all special pays, special allowances and allowances admissible as a percentage of pay — including House Rent Allowance and the allowance equal to one month's basic pay, and excluding those already capped at a maximum — stand frozen at the level of their admissibility as on 30-06-2026.
Reading the result
Basic pay is the base for a lot besides salary
Fixing the right stage matters beyond the monthly figure. Basic pay is the reference for pension, for commutation, and for the allowances calculated as a percentage of it. A stage fixed one step low quietly follows you into retirement.
That makes the point-to-point fixation worth checking against your own service record rather than accepting the first figure that appears on a payslip.
Check the fixation statement, not just the amount
Ask the Accounts Office for the pay fixation statement showing the stage you were placed at, not only the resulting rupees. A wrong amount is obvious; a wrong stage looks plausible and compounds with every future increment.
Increments and revisions are different events
An annual increment moves you one stage up the same scale on 1 December. A pay revision replaces the scale itself. They interact — the stage you hold at revision is what carries across — which is why an increment due shortly before a revision is worth confirming was actually applied first.
Where this stops
This is the federal scheme. Provincial governments issue their own pay scales on their own dates and do not always mirror the federal figures, so a provincial employee should work from their own province's notification.
FAQs
BPS Pay Scale 2026 FAQs
Why can I not just add a percentage to my old basic pay?
Because each of the 22 scales was rebuilt on its own, so the uplift is not one number. BPS-1 rose from Rs 13,550 to Rs 16,280 at the minimum, about 20.1%, while BPS-15 rose from Rs 23,920 to Rs 28,730, about 20.1% at the minimum but a different figure at every other stage because the annual increment changed too. The only reliable method is the one the memorandum prescribes: carry the stage across, then read the new figure.
What does "point to point" actually mean?
Para 3(i) fixes your pay "at the stage corresponding to that occupied by him/her above the minimum of Basic Pay Scales-2022". Your position in the scale moves, not your rupees. If you were on the twelfth stage above the minimum of BPS-14, you land on the twelfth stage above the minimum of the new BPS-14. You never look up your old rupee figure in the new column.
My basic pay does not match any stage exactly. Is that wrong?
Not necessarily. Para 3(ii) covers personal pay drawn beyond the maximum of a scale on account of annual increments, and that continues to be drawn in BPS-2026 at the revised rates. This calculator snaps to the nearest stage at or below what you entered, tells you it has done so, and carries the remainder across rather than rounding it away. If the gap is large and you are nowhere near the maximum, check that you have the right grade.
When is my next annual increment?
Para 4 leaves it where it was: 1 December each year, subject to the existing conditions. That is why the result card shows the December figure rather than a July one.
Did I have to opt in to BPS-2026?
Para 8 gave 30 days from 21 July 2026 to file an irrevocable written option to stay on BPS-2022 or move to BPS-2026. Anyone who did not exercise the option within that window is deemed to have opted for BPS-2026, so almost everyone is on the new scheme.
What happened to Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2022 and 2025?
They were merged into the new scales and ceased to exist from 1 July 2026, which is where most of the increase in the table comes from. ARA-2023 and ARA-2024 were not merged; they continue as frozen amounts. The DRA and Ad-hoc Relief Allowance Calculator works those out separately.
Does this cover provincial employees?
No. Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK issue their own pay-scale notifications, and they do not always follow the federal figures or the federal date. This page is the federal scheme only.
Are house rent and medical allowance included?
No, this page is basic pay only. Para 7 froze all special pays and allowances admissible as a percentage of pay, including House Rent Allowance, at the level of their admissibility on 30 June 2026, so those did not rise with the new scales.
Is this what my payslip will show?
Basic pay should match if you are on the stage you think you are. Gross pay will not, because allowances sit on top. Your Accounts Office holds the record that governs.
